Screens 4.5 for iOS Now Available

Our screen sharing app has been updated to take advantage some new iOS 11 features!

Drag and Drop Support

You can now drag and drop images, text, links and more into Screens. While you’re connected to a Mac, drag elements over the connection view and Screens will then use clipboard syncing to send the content over and paste it where the mouse cursor currently is:

While performing a drag, you can interact with other fingers in order to prepare the drop location on the remote Mac:

You can also drag over other elements such as text:

When you drop the element, Screens will copy it over and paste it where the cursor currently is:

Library Improvements

Thanks to the new iOS 11 drag and drop feature, you can now select multiple items in the Library and move them around, create new groups, etc.

Additionally, it is now possible to perform a 2 finger tap on an item to display additional operations, just like a force touch would on your iPhone:

New Toolbar Shortcuts

Hide and Hide Others shortcuts can now be found in the scrollable toolbar:

We also added a Return shorcut next to the Actions button. This prevents to have to display the virtual keyboard simply to hit Return:

Improved Mobile Trackpad

You can also now fine tune the tracking speed of the trackpad via the new Settings button:

This setting also controls the “regular” trackpad mode:

Other Improvements

  • Added Ukranian keyboard support
  • Fixed Danish keyboard
  • Fixed Spanish ISO keyboard
  • Fixed disconnection issue
  • Many stability and performance improvements
