Screens 2.2 brings some iPhone 5 love

Screens loves iphone 5

Just a quick post to let you know that Screens 2.2 now supports iOS 6 and iPhone 5. Since we’re currently working hard at Screens 3, which is a major overhaul, I initially wasn’t sure about updating the current version to use the iPhone 5 four inch display.

Moreover, iOS 6 introduces many new concepts that require us to adapt our apps in other aspects than just the iPhone 5 new display.

Fortunately, it was less work than I thought it would be so a week later and a record 8 hours app review turnaround from Apple, Screens 2.2 was out!

However, consider 2.2 as an in-between version. Screens 3 will use the iPhone 5 display real estate more efficiently. This will require some thinking about what makes sense, what stays and what will have to go. I don’t have anything to announce yet regarding Screens 3 but please stay tuned!

Have I mention how fast Screens is on the iPhone 5? That A6 chip screams! It also make Screens a pleasure to use over LTE.
